New genuine side badges Side glass fitted and mirrors Heater box flaps refoamed New rear badges, glass and spoiler fitted. Also fitted the rear bumper with new bolts
Handles fitted, with the lockset updated to one key. Fitted new metal inserts Cleaned up the 2 washer bottles with some detergent and rice. Before After new vw hertiage underlay kit fitted Rear beam, front panel, lower supports, and shields powdercoated Wiper mechanicism refitted with a newly powdercoated arm New Bilstein shocks but undecided on what brand of springs to go for. Using images I gathered from car shows of other cars from the same garage I got a set of plates made up By luck a full set of unused steel wheels with the correct GTI offset came up for sale locally. They had been in a loft since 1990 in a set of vortex boxes when the owner upgraded to alloys
This week I splashed out on a new set of pirellis for the steel wheels. The tyre fitter was able to retain the original wheel weights and not mark the wheels.
Outstanding work! I really love that you went all in and took care of every nook and cranny, the body work is fantastic as well as the paint! Is the yellow paint acid primer? I really am looking forward seeing this finished and back in all its glory!
Great to see that was being used and is now getting the full treatment to bring back to its former glory - probably better! Were you dailying it before? What are the plans for it once 'done'?
It was a daily for the first owner but it was being used at the summer classic when I bought it in 2013.
