I am having a problem with my gti cutting out under heavy acceleration. If I hold the pedal down it dies until i let up then it will jump back to life. After reading the forums I've found problems similar to mine and it points towards the overrun cutoff valve, the lift pump, and cracked boot on the air box. What I want is more info on the overrun cutoff valve such as where it's located, what it looks like, etc. More info: I just got the car started after having it for about a year, and have yet to do a real tune.. I have changed most of the essentials: Battery, starter motor, dizzy, oil, plugs, lines, temp senders and sensors, fuel filter, other odds and ends I can't remember. Since I haven't found a topic specific to hammering on this ******* I wanted to post a new thread..any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
the over-run cut-off valve is the big black plastic thingy near the airbox, to start with just unplug it see if that helps. also: http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?195423
