Can anyone lay their hands on full 3A piston specs? In an attempt to avoid paying Audi over 400 quid for a set I've been trawling the KS catalogue for a substitute. X-flow 8V code AQY look like they might do the job. Assuming they can be had oversized for less than the Audi pistons [:s]

Compression height is very close at around 29.3 and they use a 20mm gudgeon pins. The AQY pistons are a little shorter so no banging into the crank. It's just the piston bowl spec I'm unsure of. I've got the AGY spec from Mahle and KS but can't find info for the 3A and though I've got the old pistons I have no idea how to measure them correctly.

There may of course be something I'm missing here that means I can't use the late pistons. I'd happily go tall block but as I'm running a Driver I'd have to junk the std airbox, with all the trouble that can cause.

Out of curiosity are the x-flow 8Vs 'tall block'?
