    a

    lot!

Not very helpfull sorry! I'm pretty sure the floorpan is different to accomodate the prop but I could be wrong. certainly you would need a whole 4motion car to remove literally everything from!

yes but is it just bolt on s. IE does my car take all the bits from a 4Mtion TDI
Or do i have to cut out the boot floor from the 4 motion ande weld that in to mine.

there must be a tunnel of some sort - they surely isnt enough room on a reg mk4

My advice - save up and get a mk5 tdi 4mot!

I would say there are 2 realistic options

    1) sell it and buy a mk5 tdi 4motion

    2) sell it and buy a mk4 v6 4motion and switch the engine for the diesel lump (if its even possible)

Its going to cost big money though for a 4motion mk4 unless they happen to make them in any other countries in which case you can import one!

that would be the easisest, and of course a TDI 6 speed box, to bolt onto the propshaft, floor pans are different

mk 5 would be the easiest, all of the above out of the box + better handling & 16v diesel / higher power output engine

Aren't the gearbox-engine mounting points different on the TDI and 2.8 litre (or R32) 4Motion? So, since you'd have to use the 4Motion gearbox, you'd have to custom-fabricate a bellhousing adapter, which probably means you'd have to widen the car or re-engineer the chassis mounts.

It would probably be easier to convert the VR6 to run on diesel!

this is how you do it.

buy a 4 motion, or 4 motion shell. take your pick of 5 or 5 door. R32 shell is the same.

get a tdi gearbox, and TT running gear and fuel tank

put the TT bellhousing and diff on the TDI box, to give you a 4wd TDI box. bolt everything up.

makes sense to use a PD150 lump really, ship it to 220bhp and 320lbs.ft

wiring will be fun, you'll need a 4 motion loom.

speak to allan fishburn at the golf centre in darlington, he may just sell you his, as that's exactly what he's got! 01325 383860

if he won't sell, he'll probably build you one, or at least get you somewhere near with the bits.

I've got loads of rear axle bits and diffs.

I believe all the engine mounting points are the same.

I was having a look at a 4 motion box totady, looks like the mk5 TDI 6 speed box, but could be different on the bell housing bolts without getting the 2 together I woulndn't know,
I'd trust what PhatVR6 has to say & he's right about the gearbox mounts all the same!
