Hi, Does anyone know any info or ratio about a 5B gearbox, I think its a 4 speed from a mk2 scirocco. Cheers
Never heard of it. If it is an 020 box then it will be packed with a variation of the usual gear and FD ratios. What do you want from your gearbox?
Might be from a Maestro come to think of it. As said previously it will have either a 3.66, 3.89, 3.94, 4.17, 4.25, 4.6 FD And the the gear ratios form the FAQ gear ratios thread. The question remains, what do you want your gearbox to do?
anything usefull here? http://www.maestro.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=81403 has info on the 6W box which is montego. I'd check myself but I'm blocked from the site now at work
Cheers for linking to my spreadsheet, it is nice to see it is getting some use. I am updating it as often as I can but as you can imagine it is very time consuming. The 5B gearbox was originally from an 08/83 – 07/92 Caddy according to ETKA. Part number 020 300 045QX, short code 5B, 4 speed, 2 wheel drive, 90mm drive flanges. Here are the ratios. Final Drive – 4.250 (68/16) 1 – 3.455 (38/11) 2 – 1.944 (35/18) 3 – 1.286 (36/28) 4 – 0.909 (30/33) -Ben
