    Hi there
When I eventually get the car mot'd just wondering what options are.
Car is 27 years old I'm in 50s with two other cars and motorbike.
Only want to be able to drive GTI during summer months so sub 1k miles a year.
Can I get classic insurance on this car for a few months at a time?
What about tax? Is it still 6 or 12 months at normal rate (just noticed last disc still on screen 2001) when I parked her up.
Gloves are off now...getting to grips with refurb and hope to be ready for mot in January.
Any thoughts on the insurance or tax issues?

You can now do tax online a month at a time. If the car is standard there'll be plenty of classic car options for insurance. mine has a mk3 2l engine and I found Green light competitive - they also give a discount for club members

I have a multicar policy with 2 other cars as daily drivers which i put my 90 16v gti on for an additional 240/ year, i think this is steep but i am 22

road tax is around 260 a year or pay it monthly
