8v crossflowhead

    does anyone know where i be able to source a crossflow 8v head for my mk2 golf as id like to run motorbike carbs. ive heard they came off euro ventos but where could i get one.

    The 2.0 8v engine used in the MK4 Golf and New Beetle feature a crossflow head. Not sure on the engine code I'm afraid but they often come up in breakers and on eBay.

    would the mk4 head fit on a 2E engine?????

    right done some digging and searching on here and the APK engine has an 8v x-flow head .... just not sure what it would fit.

    it fits 2litre aplications with no problem from what i understand altho im not an expert,

    anyone know if the head from the beetle/golf would fit directly onto the 1.8 bottom end? also would it use origioal head gaskets , water flange etc cheers for the help ed

    the water outets on the are in different places. as the inlet ports are where the outlet from the head is. it is on the side of the head. yes it fits on 1.8 engines as well

    so do you use the water flanges from the crossflow and do you have to do a bit of custom pipework has anyone done this conversion and maybe has some pictures?

    VR6Will is your man, but you'll get far more power if you start with a 2.0 16v motor.

    He had to have machining done on his, although I'm not sure if that was to make the head fit, or for the solid lifter conversion....maybe both.

    Lairy high lift cam lobes didn't fit in the head IIRC:lol: :lol:

    that is a fairly easy on to solve i should imagine.
