I've been thinking about it, as they're ring-legal, but I don't really want to have the extra weight in the car for the trip over, and I'd be daft trusting them as my only tyres for the trip, you've seen how bad the drainage is on those Belgian auto-routes.

But on a dry track, they'd be f**king superb [:D]

You'll enjoy the tyres at the ring mate. Chuck em in the back!

Let us know what pressures you settle at. Am on 27 cold all round, which when hot, are 35 front, 30 rear. Had instruction at Llandow yesterday (sat), & blokey said they should be nearer 45 - seems way too high.

I've been round the 'ring in a mk2 with A048s, grip was superb.

I know you can't get the tyres as hot on the road but mine seem good at 30 hot all round, 25-27 cold.

Will experiment at Cadwell on the 23rd, weather permitting of course.

Run mine at 21-23 psi cold works out about 30 psi hot. Did find they went off big time towards the end of the session last time we went to Donny, didnt get to play with the pressure as i had a small technical problem that ended the day [:x].

Update on the A048Rs, they haven't got the ultimate on-track grip of the cheap clio cup slicks we've been using, but thats to be expected as they're road legal and don't take any warming up whatsoever, which gives more confidence on the first few laps on track in each session.

It was wet at Castle Combe the other Satuday, and I was suprised how well they coped, it was just standing water that really upset them [><]

I'm not sure exactly how many miles they've done, but they've done a day at Cadwell,Bruntingthorpe Golf+ 16v thrash, Castle Combe action day (3 if not 4 sessions) and about 1000 miles on the road and the fronts are near the 2mm wear indicators.

Yes they are road legal, but they're hard work to drive on, especially changing lanes on the motorway, they follow every bump and contour and the ruts on the inner lane are interesting to say the least with the 48s [><]

Gary, did the uprated rear pads sort out your strange "brake fade"?

Good, good, I thought they might!

If changing the rear pads helped maybe its worth looking at the rear disks you're running now.

Update on pads.. Just been out bedding in new DS3000s ready for Cadwell Saturday...

Dark unlit road, short applications lots of screeching (brake squeal) and sparks seen in mirror and out of passenger window:lol:

Got to be careful... Very easy to lock the wheels up.[><]
