As above going to remove serpentine belt tomorrow as ive got what I describe as a "worn bearing noise"
On something in that area.so the plan is to spin them all and see what's not right.
Ive got a new belt and new tensioner, although strangely the alternator clutch pulley has recently been
Changed as its shining like a new penny.
So it seems someone changed this then put the old belt back on[:s] seems a bit odd to me.
Tensioner is also old.hope this resolves my noise.(changing for new)

P.s should tensioner move about a bit when idling as this old one does.
Also how's the alternator clutch suppose to operate(new one could be duff)
    Thank

Took off serpentine belt today to check pulleys,
The bearings have gone in the idler easy fix,
Also the air con compressed seems to have wear on the pulley as it has a bit of free play in it rotating it sounds wrong.
    I think it's fubar.
It looks like it could be a d.i.y job to change it appart from re-gassing anyone done one on here.

My options for sorting the air con noise is either a new pulley/clutch.or remove the air con and be done with it as
They always seem more hassle than their worth.
Not bothered about not having air con, anyone know what belt length I would need.
It's a2004 pd 1.9 tdi with one belt that does all pulleys.:thumbup:anyone outthere...seems quiet on this on this and I'm
Sure it's been done by someone.thanks
