As above, just bought an A8 (1996 V8 3.7) cheap for use as a motorway mile muncher, was having a good look at it at the weekend but couldnt find the battery!! Is is tucked away under the back seat or in the boot or something?
    Cheers

My old man has just bought the same car, had to do the cambelt on it the other week, what a job! Five hours and that was on a ramp. I hope yours is already done?

Cheers for that, found it and its a beast of a battery. Yea cambelt has been done. Just done 900 miles in it since the weekend, and what a fantastic long range barge, cruise control on and just waft along. Making mid 30s mpg on a run too, so not much different to the Mk2 valver.

I've got first dibs on my Dads should he ever sell it, absolutly love it, build quality and detail is in a different league to other german barges of the same era. They seem to be pretty good on fuel for what it is, probably because they're geared so long - 90 mph is a mere 2500 revs!
