ABF timing chain/sprocket allignment

    hey does anyone have any pics of where it should line up??
    i have got them kinda lined up but is slightly above and not inline with the face of the head. should it?? in the haynes its almost inline and mines bout 5mm above the head.
    just want to make sure its ok, will post a pic later or current allignment.

    any tips on doing this easier?

    its a new chain that got fitted.

    if you can wait roughly 40 mins I'll have digi camera in garage to photo my abf, which has not had cams messed with :)

    took it apart lastnight but 2 of the pistons wouldnt budge!

    the round bits the cam sits on, bro said its full of oil so the spring bit isnt moving.
    cant get 2 of them to move/out

    oh the tappets, yeah takes a bit of force to compress the valve springs. another thing, I'd spin the bottom end over a bit to drop piston #1 and 4, make sure theres no risk of valve contact!

    ah ok, would have to work hard to get piston contact then :lol:
    those valve springs are under a lot of tension, this is why you need to gradually tighten the cam caps in a certain sequence to gradually compress the springs, no way you're gonna do it 'by hand' :)

    We were tryin to remove them and get the oil out of them like the rest that moved freely.

    Got it alligned last night :) :) thanks for the pics to follow. Was a few notches out on the teeth
