Hey! I’m after an AC/DC Tig, any of you guys have one? And if so what is it? Or do you recommend anything? Google is very American out here in Japan.
I went for a Parweld AC/DC tig based on reccomendations from an experienced fabricator friend, Can't remember exactly which model it is but I can find out. Its a great little machine although I need a hell of a lot more practice in Aluminum work!
I also initially thought of an 80s/90s rock truck. Lol. "R-tech can’t go wrong know few lads who used them I have a sip hg2500p only thing I’ve had is it’s a digital display and the memory doesn’t save last used setting but thing is mint love it." From a friend doing metal fab in a car tuning workshop.
What is your budget ? Some Chinese offerrings are quite decent: Thermal Arc ta202 AC/DC, parweld, everlast however I would go for something European. Esab, tweco, Lincoln, Miller, fronius, rehm , sanrex or telwin, cebora, rehm, Kemppi all do quality gear that will last decades !
I don’t really have a budget, it depends on what I’m buying. Obviously I don’t want to spend thousands!
Ok, a better formulated question will be: what will you weld ? How thick and will it be diy or professional? I have a Lincoln v205 AC/DC, it’s made by selco in Italy for Lincoln Electric and it’s a cracking little machine, full inverter with dual voltage and lots of features ! I use it professionally…get a cooling unit if you decide to do any alloy thicker than 3mm !
