Hopefully not off topic too much but are the aerodynamics better with a small bumper, I only ask this as the G60 Limited was small bumper and I suspect VW made that about as good as possible!

I wanted to do a flat floor with the MK2 but the DMN wont allow it in the Regs.

on hatches, extending the trailing edge of the roof helps, most manufacturers do this for the sporty models, and touring cars etc have the wing set to "catch" the air seperating from the roof.

new front end - what were fog light holes closed off, lower valance 'brake duct' holes closed off and lower section of middle grill closed off with incorporated rad ducting backwards. And undertray not visible

Took it out for a blast last night - felt damn fast - engine and engine bay was normal temp also so first signs good

big test sat if speed trap times improve

will paint em if it works

i think it had some effect - horrible rainy and windy day - expect maybe 115 in these conditions - 120 through the trap. result.

personal best time when it dried out by 4 tenths.

big thumbs up. more aero to come.......

ta - I should also say that as Daz predicted, engine bay temps did go up a touch and oil temps when running on the motorway were 2-4 degrees up so some increase but not massive - if I was doing a lot of longer events like 15 lap circuit racing, i think I would have to fit additional oil cooling as now I dont have an oil cooler in my dry sump setup - for road work and sprints its fine, 100C tops which is ok on modern oils

Rob i found the guys who work at MIRA [not the shower place] really helpful for ideas on this kind of stuff. What you need is PPC mag or someone to arrange an article in the MIRA wind tunnel. May be worth a few letters
