Anyone know of somewhere that makes a simple aftermarket airbox to fit a mk2?
Bahn brenner used to do a nice one but have discontinued it.
Need an airbox for my ABF mk2!

I would use a SEAT Toledo ABF airbox or a Mk2 Golf GTD airbox which I think you can still buy from the stealers for about 30 quid.

Corrado or Golf G60 airbox. This is what I'm using to construct the airbox on my 1.8t from. Toyotec also uses one of these on his turbo'd abf.

Someone on here (I think it was EZ Pete actually) got one from the stealers for 25 quid or something. I remember it being mentioned in thread about using an airbox on a carb'd car.

yea using a factory airbox would be great but I'm not in the UK- car runs Digi3
there is a distinct lack of GTD or G60 parts down here, can't just pop into the wreckers...
Corrado airbox you say- you mean a g60 or VR6 one? (neither commonly available in NZ)

The airbox on my turbo car is a Corrado VR6 job that is modified internally and at the MAF end.

what side of the bay is you airbox going to? I know here its the left, but in some countries (think it was the states) it was on the right with the manifold pointing the other way.

also makes no odds what side of the road the car is desiged for, airbox is always in the same spot for the equivilent modes. i.e., all mk2s have it on right side, most mk1s have it on the left (some diesels had it on the right, but quite rare)

the spi models are GL/CL but very late spec, quite common on the contenent but v rare to see in the uk, no idea on rarity in Australia? Either way if SEAT Ibiza/Toledo were available over there much more likely to see those in SPI models than MK2

edit: worst case I've seen someone use a MK3 airbox, with all the right side of it hacked off so it fits a MK2. just block up the hole left over and bobs your uncle
