Pick up my r32 tomorrow and i have been looking at the AmD remap to 260-270bhp.

Has any one here had this done? Is it worth the cash? Will it show up on the VW computer to invalidate my warranty?

    Any info is much appreciated!

    don't own a R32 ( would like one)

friend has a seat leon and wanted a AMD chip to boost his power, he was told(by seat) it would invalidate his warranty, though what his warranty is worth i don't know..

he was looking at a general power hike and it looked good, might be worth a road test?

go to VW , they go ABT remaps and it covered under warranty. I know VW in Colindale are ABT agents.

they did a feature on a 270 R32 remap by AmD (or was it ABT?) in performance VW a month or so back. Seem to remember they gave it the thumbs up, gave better low end pickup especially. I think they combined it with a Miltek exhaust.

I'm not sure about the warranty, but it seems to be a good improvement over the standard R32. Not that there is anything wrong with the R32 in standard form, trust me! ;)

I think AmD prefer the engine to have been run in before they do the remap and exhaust, roughly 1000 miles but best to check with them. They should be able to tell you about warranty as well.

Have you been on the UK MKIV's forum at all (www.uk-mkivs.net) as there are quite a few owners of R32's over there (me included!), some have had the AmD 270 treatment and a few have just had the AmD 300 treatment!

my dealer said they would turn a blind eye to the remap, but because the exhaust could be seen, if anything needed doing it might cause a problem with the warranty.

The PVW feature was Mick who occasionally posts on here... it
was done at AMD if I remember rightly

Someone else has posted some useful info re R32s but it has
been locked for some bizarre reason [:s]
