Fu*kin Right!!! :) Good for you mate!!

Would it be worth mentioning the Retail Motor Industry Federation &/or Trading Standards to them to encourage them to sort something out??? Id put loads of pressure on & threaten writing to ALL the VW publications etc ;)

An ECU remap for such a car cant be less than 250-300. Hardly justified when the gain doesnt match the claim..

Bearing in mind most of AmDs jobs are "big bucks" conversions well over the 1000 mark then its very sad that they have readily done such a thing for the sake of a few hundred quid [xx(]

IMO AmD USED to be a favoured tuning house for mk2s & mk3 VRs, but now all they are interested in, are "easy money" upgrades for turbocharged VAG products...1.8Ts in a nutshell. [:s]

    Keep us posted ;)

Ah yes... still trying to prune all of the 'non-factual' information out of that one, so that we can bring it back. I think that'll take until 2007, though.

What i said was true, but we had to get it confirmed first. AMD have now admitted liability for there f**k up. And we got a refund. Basically we got a std chip in our 'remapped' car. Only found this out as i am now the UK MRC Developments dealer have have the kit to read the code in the ECU.

Thats a bit of a worry, I am new to the VW GTI scene only purchased mine 4 months ago, its a mk4 18t the previous owner is a m8 of mine and he had done a great job of styling etc, well pleased with the car but just had a cat back millteck system fromAMD fitted while i waited i orderd the full system but when i arrived 100 odd miles later they had got the wrong cat etc it was for a diesel i wasnt happy but the assistant reduced the price of the cat back and fitting but i will still have to return for the rest of it at a later stage because of the body kit i have ABT i couldnt have the popular millteck tailpipe arrangement and had to have the one that looks the same as the standard box (ie, its hidden under the body of the car with pipes facing the tarmac) funny thing is i couldnt see it listed on the millteck website, does anyone know if AMD have it made by millteck just for them or is the tailpipe not actually millteck?

Lastly can anyone recommend somewhere to buy a newspeed or decent intercooler preferably somewhere that will also fit the unit and what would be the best one to buy. (oettinger chip)

    Thanks

That sounds like a very popular story i have been hearing. I dont mean exhausts, i mean in general about the company.

    Live and learn i guess.

On the subject of your golf try this man for good prices on forge intercooler kits.

Lee 07855 306794, just tell him Tom C gave you his number and that should help with the prices ;)
