I was happily stripping paint a few years back with mine.........in my shorts as usual holding the job with my foot.
I'm chatting away with my bro too and I'll thinking 'somethings smarting down there'

I look down to see a nice red blotch on the side of my calf where I'd been happily coming off the job onto myself. What a knob! lol

Still wear shorts, and still feel the sharp little b'stards flywing off embedding themselves in my legs. A nice little reminder to how dangerous they can be, and to stop me getting complacent!

I spent yesterday afternoon in hospital [:^(] .

Was using the disc cutter with a sanding attachment prepping the car for welding & the goggles didn't have side protection bits....

Was leaning into the car & the glasses slid a little down my nose & where the sparks were flying around one bounced off the inside of the car & hit my eye from the side & the piece of metal got stuck just on the outside of the coloured area in my eye [xx(] .

Went to the hospital & have drops put in by the Doc then after the stinging stopped he got what looked like a mini scalpel & scrapped at it then rubbed it with a cotton bud & the metal piece came out  .

I have now had the sense to buy full wrap around goggles & was very lucky [:$] .

Edited: for terrible spelling but in my defence my eye was shafted.

I use an angle grinder all day at work.
Normal glasses and full face visor.
(The sides of safety glasses push the sides of the visor out and allow sparks in.)

Only close call was a disc not tightened up properly once.
It span a few times around the work area.

I was cutting some stairs out of a staircase I built with a grinding disc not a cutting disc once, it bit and just took off about 5M up in the air, then swung round a nearby beam and just missed by mates head. :o

Still my favourite power tool though:lol:

horrible tools. definitely not safe on an angle grinder unless it's one where you can control the speed and wind it RIGHT down.

    otherwise, death on a stick...avoid.

i use those much lighter brushes and a battery drill. safer, not as fast, and the bristles don't fly out and stick in your forehead.
