Looks a tricky stage Car sounds fantastic though. Info on the car and pics at http://www.rallyand4x4.co.uk/ Edited by: GVK
Just downloading it now, the car looks like a lovely piece of kit really well finished, suspension set up looks interesting never seen anything like that before, are the two cylinders on the inner wings fluid reservoirs or something ? Pete
Yep, they're remote reservoirs for the shocks Pete, basically the action of the shock causes friction in the damper which in turn causes the fluid to heat up which decreases it's efficiency, which is greatly reduced with the remote set up.
Cool thanks Gary, seen similar setups on bikes and on competition cars but they've been mounted next to the body of the strut, never seen them mounted so far away from the strut as that, they look expensive! Watched the video, car sounds great doesnt hang about either! one thing on the passenger side is that a air fuel gauge / meter that keeps going up and down? pete
Yep, they are expensive, sure I've seen prices of 2k + for Proflex kit, maybe more Yep, looks like an AFR gauge. You just know it's expensive when it states POA ! http://www.prepfab.co.uk/newpartspics/proflex.JPG Edited by: GVK
Hi the remote reservours also have the adjusters for the high speed and low speed bump settings. The Proflex shocks are not cheep (3400ish with springs) but made a big difference over the leda shocks I had before, most noticable on bumpy roads and over the jumps the car lands much nicer gives you lots more confidence when pushing hard. The only problem is setting them up lost of adjusters to play about with and I'm still learing. The moving display is a lumenition air fuel ratio meter I left it in to see how it was reading on the stages and never looked at it once, you dont get much time to relax on the mull roads. The video clip isround abouta third of the stage the total lenght is 14.46 mile and the longest is 22 miles and we usually average just over 60mph on the stages. Edited by: g wagen
