Or tried to run it on a standard engine? Did you get any benefits from it?

It depends on what engine you want to run. Not alot like running on std management unless its a std engine [:[]

As Andy says. Every car has management

I'd hardly call digifart engine management [xx(]

But yeah anyone tried something like a unichip on a standard engine and found any benefits?

i fail to see how uni chip is any better that digifant, i can think of a few
    300HP cars to start with.

You could, but you'd be better of spending 525+ vat + 350 mapping on something MUCH more worthwhile. ;)

Unless there's something horrendously wrong with the standard management then yes there are far better things to do with your cash.

If you can map it properly then you will more than likely see some power/torque gains with a mappable system though. Manufacturers do spend a lot of time developing their mapping but they generally have a different set of goals than outright power, so will often compromise it to get gains in driveability/economy/etc).

Clunky though they may be, carbs do still perform a few different tasks that combine as some form of engine management. Granted, they are to engine management what Stonehenge is to precision timekeeping, but still... ;)

If you know the right people, digifant is totally mappable and is
actually a bloody good system. My G40 turbo will be running Digi-1 and
    the Derby already does.
