Anyone still running non-PAS by choice?

    On the mk2 VR6 page on FB lots seem to post questions asking to delete the PAS on mk2s with the VR6 in, I just think it'd be too heavy with the bigger 6 pot engine in.

    On the VR6/R32 I'm not sure if you can just get a different ribbed belt to run non-pas due to the layout of the pullies?

    I'm going against the grain and preferred mk2s with pas.
    pas rack, quicker ratio than non pas.

    But there you go. lol

    Aye I'm with you on that I prefer pas as well
    I've had both and I didn't notice how heavy the steering was on my first mk2
    Till I changed to the 16v with pas
    After 10 years I was used to it

    Plus as you said the pas rack is quicker

    I'm still loving the ABF with manual, but agree that for an R32, it might be a step too far.

    A big part of the attraction for me was the weight saving, and simplification of the car. Less relevant for you. Depends what you'll be using the car for I guess.
