they used the same engine in the golf, but in my car, they mounted it the proper way round! ive got nothing against the old man image, i love seeing people's faces when they see an 18year old driving a 21year old car! next week or so its getting dropped 55/65mm so hopefully ill loose my slippers and werthers origional. gonna leave it on the origional rims, refurbished for now. also starting to look at exhausts, i want something with an old skool rasp. maybe for christmas ill get my 4x 12" subs in the boot. old man, my bottom!

seen one in about six months. last one before that was years ago when my parents had one.

its the hatchback, not the estate. but yeah! its a 1.8 so itll rip away from the lights. suprised many a boy racer.[:D]

what can i say, i got my dubucation in the old skool. liking the jetta, theres a blue one sitting in the village near me. been there for years. i want it.

anyway, the car is an '83 passat cl, 5dr hatch in biscay blue metalic. it had one owner between first registration on new years day 1984 and december 2005 when it was traded in at a skoda garage with a broken clutch and no more than 62500 miles on the clock ( with mot certs to prove!). a few days later it had 12months mot, brand new clutch fitted and delived to my house for 470. it sat in the garage all winter doing basically nothing until about a month ago when i got it on the road. it now has a K+N filter in the origional box, tinted indicators, refurbished wheels, no more tow bar, floor mats and a cd player. next week or so its getting lowered 55/65 and im looking for a backbox. in the near future ive got to get new speakers in it too as the old ones are getting blown to bits by the cd player.

long-term plans include rebuild, retrim andrespray until its magazine quality. but this is long time off. i want a mk2 polo or that mk1 jetta within the next year so that will prolly use up what little money i have.

    big up the old skool!

I'm off to Woerthersee this week, so if I see any Passat's like urs, i'll take some pics for inspiration like. Sure i've got one somewhere from VW Mania last year. Bit short of time, but i'll try and dig it out asap. Old school rocks!

Dad had a 81 GLD 4 door Passat, was a decent car, other then it being a
slug. Took a decent hit int eh side once too and I didn't get hurt, but
that's just about the only Passat I lie.
