a chap in a MKV one looked so embaressed when he couldn't get past me in my 13 year old 5 door mk3 16v.... then he showed some fine understeer on a roundabout as i saw him drift sideways in my mirror.

what happend to all that v6 torque and muscle?

shame as i really like them and was thinking about getting one [:s]

im sure he would have got passed me after 3rd but still a bit underwhelming

see them as grand tourers rather than point and shoot GTI's

Exactly... If was in a R32, there would be no way i'd let a MK3 get away

defo an r32 ... the chap lives on a housing estate here near uni. hes got an impreza too.

just looked at the r32 stats... didn't realise they were so heavy. have a power to weight ratio of 163.

mines about 160 with my cams (180bhp plus). the lightened flywheel probably makes this technically higher as this was all 1-3rd gear stuff. makes sense.

all the r32's torque is lower down the revs too so he couldn't utilise it...

shame though as i luv them

if he was playing with me why couldn't he get past on a dual carriage-way... 3 times?

fair enough- it would spank a standard mk3 16v..... but with bit of fettling they are up there with most hatchbacks.

160.1 PS (157.9 bhp) at the wheels is a fair bit for a car that is not as heavy as every one says.

really need to get one of those in car camera jobbies or try it out on the track...

0-60 in 6.5 apparently for the mk5 r32 so even with the most commited perfect launch in your mk3 you may has stayed close to him. after that id expect all his extra cubic capacity would have kept him ahead. i dont remember having played with any r32s in the past for some reason, but i dont think id fancy my chances tbh

as for the world's hatred, theyll soon start to understand :p
