Just been looking at some dash pods. I think im going change from the tied and tested Stack set up which i have in my Mk3 and go for a Race Technology set up in the Audi. This is mostly due to its Data logging facilities, lap and sector times as well as GPS and engine info. RPM, throttle position braking inputs and various others.

    Also it looks very nice.....

    Just a quick update.

Ive been out of action with a damaged back for the last 2 months, so havent been able to do any work on the car. But things are getting better and the project is starting to move slowly along again.

Im waiting for a load of engine parts from America before we start the engine build and the chassis is where it was last time we posted. Im just sorting a load of spare subframes and panels to go with the spares package, all in the correct colour which is a bonus.

And i picked up these yesterday. 6 months old and an absolute bargin. About half the price they cost new.[:D]

What a great build. Will you be getting sensors to log suspension movement ?
It will all be worth it when you hear it start !

    Cheers for the comments,

Yep the plan is to use some suspension potentiometers. We have decided to use this dash now rather than the racelogic ones.

Other developments in the pipe line are a Motec M600 Ecu, Cable throttle instead of a drive by wire, a polo electric power steering pump and the development of a pedal box.

Slow Slow progress but getting interesting now. I will keep this thread updated in real time as things happen.[:D]

Just had a change of job and re location over the last 4 months which has taken me out of action for a while and whith my back problems in 2010 i havent touched the car since June last year.

But things are starting to move again:thumbup:, popped up to see her over christmas. The flocked dash is done and looks spot on and the engine strip down has begun. Turbos are being sent off and the new NA heads are being sorted up at the shed.

We hope to have the car out and running this year but i doubt we will be competing serioulsy in her until 2012. So the Mk3 Race car will be getting wheeled back out of the lock up for a bit of a refurb depending on what she needs. Ready for a few Races in the 2011 season. Im glad i ddint sell her now, we used her at ADI and had so much fun, what track driving is really about.

Hopefully there will be some updates now for the next few months.
