Audi C4/a6 2.0 1996model Buyer Guide?

    I am planing to get an AUDI some call it C4 some call it A6 2.0 1996 year model,and i would like the member here to advise me what to check before buying this car?Is this a reliable AUDI?Is it a good idea to buy this car as a family and run around car?Thank You.
