Have failed miserably to sort the electrics on my Mk1 Gti. Had been used as a track car and gutted. I purchased it after a complete respray and engine fitted. No electrics but came with a tea chest filled with looms, lights and switches. Looms have been fitted and ancillaries seem to work ok. Lights, wipers, fog lights all respond. The fuel pump relay will not work Have tried several relays, new fuse box but no luck. It will only work of fuse box connections 87 and 30 are bridged. Very close to putting the whole thing on eBay in bits. Does anyone know of an auto electrician who is familiar with the Mk1 GTi electrics please? Am based in West Midlands WV3 Many thanks
I have details of an auto electrician I've used for both my mk2 Golf's for 10 years. Based in Worcester but he may not travel out. Worth a try. He can only say no. Pm me if interested.
