........and love it. The review on the whole is good. They really rate it, and Mk1 lovers. Check out those seats!!
im loving the seats not sure on the rear end bit like a seat but then again i didnt like the mk4 but i love the r32
oh yeah 19K a bargain Until you try and spec a decent one - mine woulda been 24k Bollox to that on a VW GOLF
Mk2 16v was listed at 15,995 in 1990. A few options on that took it close to 18k. 19,995 for the Mk5 GTI is a starting price in line with inflation really.
I think a test drive is in order. I'm almost excited. Like those seats, lots of homage to the mk1... as it should be. GTI badges are on the wrong side though. First mod I would do on mine, unless that is just a left hand drive 'thing'. 1300kg though... wow, that's a lot of metal. And what do they means by this.... I wouldn't call a mk1 GTI explosive, they are pretty linear too. Perhaps they were thinking of a mk2 16v. Cheers, Drew. Edited by: drew
1300kg is not bad for a modern car today, I'm sure the Mk4 was nearly 1500kg. You could probably strip the interior and get around 200kg off the weight.
you've started modding cars that not only do you not own, but dont even exist yet!! slippery slope.... Edited by: pictonroad
That GTI is smart, wish I could afford one! Do you think they will allow me to pay it up over 15yrs!!
and you can almost pick up the top spec new scooby, the WR1 for that. or could get the wrx sti for that...and i'm sorry, but which is the better car?!
