Basically short story is got a chance of a cheap mk5 gti with an AXX engine which is potentially scrap but after a quick look on the Internet it seems second hand AXX are uncommon whereas a BWA is more readily available. So can a bare BWA engine be fitted in place of the AXX or do bits need to be changed between the two? Just weighing up my options atm before the go button is hit!
