I reckon the timing chain tensioner could hold it's breath no longer, and decided to come out for air. "Alien style"
***, that's nothing. Best one I saw was a turbine in a powerstation on which the main shaft had failed. the pics of the destruction that caused was unreal. and the maufacturer of said turbine? Skoda....
thats what we thought tensioner decided afte 250 od k it had had enoough. The van had a sketchy maintenance history at best. We got a full plug and play engine from merc, even had a fuel filter primed and ready to go, just add oil!
