i crashed and police found 2 bald tyres on the front end of the car. It had only passed its MOT 4weeks before ??? How long you have to wait for a Court summons to arrive? what penalty you recon ill get for it? 6 points/ fine ?????
awww, unlucky, when i crashed with a bald tire i phoned the police because i was stuck in a field lol. 4 police cars went past me that night and didnt help. now im glad they didnt.
where abouts was your MOT done? im not sure on the limtation period for an offence like that. for offences such as SP50 speeding, where youre going to prosecuted regardless, the police have until 6 months after they have finished gathering evidence to start proceedings. either way... im sure its 3 points per tyre
What milage has the car done since the MOT? Surely they should have been written up as advisory under the new MOT system on a yellow slip accompanying the MOT. Long shot is that if you have done hardly any miles at all since the MOT (the mot cert will record milage at point of mot) there is evidence to suggest it was passed through the MOT when it shouldnt have been.... I would say you are probably up sh*t creek though tbh.
it had probaly covered around 300 miles. There was no advisory given.... I only have 6 points and have had no previos motor convictions, spose i will just have to wait and see,, Couple of months back i was in my mates car and he pulled a handbreak infront of a plain police car, got caught on CCTV. he got four points and a 125.unlucky
you already have 6 points!!!!!!!!!!!! if youve been driving less than 3 years(i think) you will be banned!!!!!! dont take my word as red tho mate.... handbrake turns are a silly idea neways aint they???? especially on a road!!
i have only been driving 9 months, i only get 6 points for the first 2 years. It realy is a tricky one. I have searched plenty of sites and cant realy get an understanding on what will happen.......i might not even get the court summons
Thats not unlucky, you get what you deseve sometimes! Strange it would pass an mot if the tyre was bald, maybe some comeback on the mot station?
Yeah i agree, this kid is dangerous and really shoud'nt be on the road. I cant explain how much of a nutta he is. Been pulled twice in one day and 4 times in one week- And the car searched for drugs, never used them though. I have spoken to a police man about this bald tyre issue and he recons i have a good case......actually his the dad of the the nutta with 4points on his licience...
it is defo 3 points per tyre as i just had that to mate you will get your license revoked and you will have to start again like me im afraid sorry to tell you it though
you will get them through!!! if they found crack and 100 oz of weed in you boot they would let you off, i got pulled for plates, just changed them myself didnt get the mot ppl to send off form........ 4 months later it came through!!!!!! nice fine for me tbh mate get it sorted asap. if you get the 6points ittl kill the insurance[:^(] good luck matey
how did you get caught? were you in an accident or was it just a random check. did it take long to recieve your court summons>?
If its revealed the MoT station passed it with bald tyres, it won't help you. It might get the garage into trouble too, though.
surley it will help!!!!!!! for 1 i dont check my tyres every month for where, if the mot place passed it then they will be totally liable??
i was in an accident and its been 3 weeks and no summons yet but it will come mate no getting out of it they want your money now
Its simply not true. It won't help you even 1%. The driver is responsible for the condition of their car.
you are liable for your own tyres i was told by the police, the mot station will say they where fine and you cant prove they wernt really. the police will ask why you did not check your tyres before your journey and whatever excuse you give it wont cut it at all, they aint interested tbh.
yeah it is but hey i argued and got more crap from the police for it still will argue like hell when in court aswel. but in my case i am in the wrong lol
I can't see any other way it could work - otherwise garages would be liable for a whole lot of other motoring issues.
