When it did my 16v G60 conversion years back I had all the aluminium brackets sandblasted and just called it a day.

It's been stood for a long time now and needs a lot of attention and elbow grease but I was wondering what is best to use after I've taken all the surface corrosion away?.

Not after show car finish, just a nice looking engine bay that will last a few years without needing constant cleaning, polishing!.

We use ACF-50 at work but loathe to spraying that everywhere if really painting or another coating is best bet long term?.

It's in a sorry state but we'll get it back to what it deserves and on the road again!.

For me it’s either paint if colour is needed or clear lacquer on shiny bits to stop them tarnishing or corroding.
