    Scanner?

Well, in all honesty, you wont get GPS for less than 300 unless you get a Road Angel Classic or something 2nd hand on eBay.

Dont bother with standalone radar detectors. They are useless. I sold an old snooper about 2 weeks after i got it, for a profit too!!

hmmmm, looks like i may have to go 2nd hand perhaps.....
Scanner is just the slang ive always used for 'detectors'!

snooper s4, pretty much the same as a road angel but simpler. And the best bit is that if you are going under the speed limit it just flashes instead of beeping for the next 1/2 mile (or 2 hours if you are stuck in traffic)

I got mine for 155 brand new from a popular auction site...

Origin B2 - Served me well! :) I paid 330 from eBay using a 'buy it now' a year ago almost.

You can turn them off?? How? the Exec board at work have the RA 2 and can't stand the fact thet they beep constantly. worth a few brownie points i think.

I meant simple as in basic - no pretty pictures

The S3 doesnt have the smart mute thing, cheap but not as good IMO

I've got the classic RA, and you can choose whether you have the audible warnings or not, not so sure about the RA2

    Gary,

can you choose to have them permanently on or off? Or can you set it so it only beeps if you are over the speed limit whilst giving the visual warning too??

On mine you can set the volume of the warning bleeps, or switch the bleeps off completely, the unit will still flash . You can also delete or store locations of blackspots and cameras.
