The torque Curve looks very nice, I am surprised by the peak figure though.

Im not knocking it at all, I just cant understand why some valvers on carbs or throttle bodies make a lot of peak torque an others don't..

Looks like alot of fun (Y)

thanks[8D] as for the torque, there's so many varying factors between different cats, i read that the length of the inlet maifold can make a massive difference in torque and power, short is good for bhp and longer for torque (i think. lol) i measured mine when having it made so that from the trumpet opening to the valve face was 300mm.this lenght is supposed to give a good balance of power and torque. seems to be working too!

I'm just jealous because i've got a higher spec engine professionally built (well, by myself !) Mapped by a Omex/ throttle body specialist (who i used to work for) that isn't producing as much torque..

I believe the KR cylinder head is the choice head for maximum grunt, i'm on a ported 9A item at the moment..

To be fair though, I'm happy with the way the engine produces the power and it sounds nice to, so i'm not fussed

Good effort on the setup by the way !

madmk4 i think the main thing is being happy with the way it drives, im happy with mine cos you dont have to hit the limiter in every gear, its nice to change gear at 5000rpm and still have a some grunt in the next gear.

james, your running megajolt arnt you? i'l get the map off my car and email it to you if it will help.

Ill get the WUR done on mine and then get it RR at stealth, that should help get the figues up but doubt ill ever see 180/153 off my old banger. You got one quality car there, no doubt Ian put way more thought into the air intake/exhaust/engine than I ever will;)

Edit: I managed 140lbft on a moded digi and thought that was quite good.

This is pretty true, I built mine with solely track use in mind, max power is made at 7100rpm that sustains until 7500 with a limiter of 7750, I love the revs !

Mind you, i prefer driving the stock ABF mk2 on the road because it has bags of low down grunt in comparison, horses for courses !

there is a base map available from the website froum, my map is there also. The base map will get you running and you adjust from there, its pretty simply really but takes quite a bit of trial and error to get it right. My map works really well but i think there is still room for improvement.

gunit-84 if you can send the map that would be great thanks

hi all the megajolt can be purchased as aready built unit or in kit form, its about 120 ready built i think. search google for it, autosportlabs. it gets rid of the dizzy and ecu and use's second hand ignition parts from 1990's ford mondeos/fiestas etc, all the info can be found on there web site. couple this with a trigger wheel and either map or tps sensor and your ready to go. i wired up mine and ive never done anything like this before, it is pretty straight forward.

toms dubs, it costs 45 for the first hour and 35 an hour after, mine took about 2 hours or so. seems a nice guy and does work for a couple of golf racers.
