just bought my girlfriend an 88 8v golf gti and she would like some inspiration please. Shes a newbie so pics of small and big bumpers please and varying degrees of mods too. Not 100% on the colour as its listed as black on the v5 but looks more like a very dark grey to me. Ill have to dig out the paint code. It has 88 spec doors and was registered on 01/01/1988. Its also fitted with a rainbow interior. My girlfrind is the 4th owner and as far as i can tell, it was only the chap i bought it off that seems to have changed the odd part so give the missus some inspiration..........

Heres a black 16v i have as well No rear wiper and different backbox Lowered slightly and slightly lower profile tyres (although cant remember off hand what profile they are) Crystal clear headlights and indicators
Mine's a standard black non-metallic 16v, still polishes up well. Suspension lowered approx 25mm. I wish it looked like this at the moment. Currently sports G60 steelies identical to Nealey's.
thanks all. She seems set on small bumpers now, and i think shes going to go with red trim. I have a sneaking idea that its one of the One in a Million cars, but its missing a few bits. The service schedule looks like its a 2nd one as the history starts at 48k and there is less than the usual amount of info in the front.

My grey (as i remember LP7V color code), standard GTi with small bumpers. It's just lowered a little bit, and has BBS RZs
