After running through some Acid House trax recently, I thought I'd visit the often forgotten era of 'Bleep House'. It evolved from a number of house styles during the late eighties. In total it spanned about 1.5 years from the start of 1990 to about the summer of 1991. That's about the right time frame for a fad It had its moments and here are some of them ... I think the most representative tune of the period is LFO & LFO A favourite of mine ..... Double H, F.D. !!!! Homeboy, Hippie and a Funky Dread A rarity A disco that's Tricky ? More LFO There was a stack of tunes being churned out of Rotterdam and this was the start of the house scene in Belgium, the forerunner of the early techno classics that came out of that country during the early nineties. This when the legendary R&S record label really got up and running Also the Warp record label attained fame with these Bleep tracks. http://www.discogs.com/label/R+%26+S+Records http://www.discogs.com/label/Warp+Records Classic Bleep House a Casper Pound classic {R.I.P} also involved with Homeboy, Hippie and a Funky Dread. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Caspar+Pound From this track you can feel already that half way through 1991 that Bleep house was over and again evolving into something else with this record. You can tell by the keyboard samples used the beginnings of the roots of early rave & hardcore Again elements of this can be picked up in The Exorcist track. Bit of a stopmer ! It's funny how you look at things in retrospect. You find some absolutely brilliant material, but you also realise that most material was absolute rubbish. Now that doesn't mean it was a waste of time. As with all art forms it is a process of trial and error, deciding what works and what doesn't. A quality tune to finish with .... Future Sound of London Anyway that's my ode to Bleep house and that whole fad of 1990/91

cool, i aint got much old tapeage as it got robbed years ago. got a few though i'll have to sort you some out in return.
OK cassettes now out of the loft I have 4 pirate radio tapes (2x90min + 2x60min) all of late 1990 bleep house & techno music Quality is rather good too. Now a question to answer, Dolby Noise Reduction B or not ..... I'm going for raw recording as I'd rather have a bit of hiss rather than take any clarity & high end out of the recording. So I'm recording right now as I type, 44.1Khz at 32bit direct from Technics cassette deck through to professional soundcard I'll EQ it and mix it down to 16bit then onto MP3 in stereo at 320kbps for download
Just found a great track whilst recording the tapes F X U - The scheme ! Oh yes other albums .... Breaks, Bass & Bleeps Vol.1 (http://www.discogs.com/release/50464) Breaks, Bass & Bleeps Vol.2 (http://www.discogs.com/release/172131) Both are very rare and go for some serious money, been trying to get my hands on them myself
Finally digitized some tapes for you all - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YV3Q4SBG http://www.megaupload.com/?d=S1MM8I8A Both from Nov./Dec. 1990, enjoy Gone with 192kbps due to my slow broadband speed. When I change providers next year I'll post up some 320kbps mp3's for you all.
if this whole thread was trance i would be loving it but sadly its not, and in 1990 I was 6 so not old enough for raving just yet!!!!
