    Hi there,

I've been offered a set of cheap-ish alloy wheels from a BMW E30 3-series and the seller assures me they will fit on my Mk2 GTi 16v. The tyre size is correct at 195/50 R15 and they have 4 bolts but can anybody confirm 100% that they will fit on my Mk2 without adaptors or problems?

    Thanks in advance!

    Greetings,
    Michael

if they are 4 stud bmw from an e30 they will fit.tho the offset will be lower and therefore the wheel will sit furthur out in the arch.

Mike: I asked him about this but the chap is a bit clueless so couldn't tell me anything. All I can find out is that they were on an E30 BMW 3 series and he has been told by a "reliable" source they will fit on my Mk2. [:s]

Alby: Thanks for the reply. How much "sitting out" are we talking about here and will this cause any problems or look naff?

depends how wide they are and how low the offset is.

you shouldnt have too many problems unless you car is running very low.even then you'd only have to roll the arches slightly to increase clearance.

mk2 golf offsets are usually between et30 and et35.the bmw ones are usually et25-et15. so you are talking anywhere between 10 and 20mm furthur out.

I've just fired off another email to the seller asking for the "et" value but I'm not sure it he will be able to find it!

If we're talking worst case scenario and it is 20mm out what would be the potential side affects at worst?

thanks again for all the help - it's greatly appreciated!

nothing too drastic.if your car is very low you may have to trim or roll the arches a bit.you may even get away with no arch problems at all.

they'll be 4x100pcd so no probs there.

BUT, the offset wont really be right. as others said they'll stick out more than wheel made for a golf.

E30 BMW Alloys DEFINATELY fit on a MK2 Golf. The offset on BMW Rims is around about ET19. Thats what the Mim 1900's that my E30 318iS is wearing are anyway..........

    Hi again,

Thanks for all the info! Anyway, I've finally managed to find out the exact offset, width etc.... for these wheels so I'm hoping I'll now be able to decide whether of not they'll fit without a problem 100%. Here's all the info:

    PCD 4B BET357Jx15 H2

From what Alby said above I think they will be in the correct offset range for my Mk2. Am I correct?

Thanks again for all the help!
