Is the boot in a Bora much different in size to the Golf?

About the same size I think, but obviously a smaller opening on the Bora.

I know from experience that you can get a complete 20v in the boot of a Bora though...getting it out again is a bit harder... ;)

Longer, but due to crappy stiffening very low behind rear seats.

Thanks, how much bigger is the Passat boot?

I'm going to be replacing the mk1 & need to get something more practical.

The passat will be deeper again. I'd go for an estate because with a boot you will always be restricted by the height.

Also the rear leg room in the golf/bora is crap

    Boot capacities (volume in litres)

From our road test figs ( rear seat up / rear seat folded):

    Bora 456 / 784 litres

    Mk 4 Golf 330 / 1184

    Mk 4 Golf Estate 460 / 1470

    MK 5 Jetta 437 / 1390

    B5 Passat 475 / 800

    B5 Pasat Estate 495 / 1600

    B6 Passat 485 / 2004

Exact numbers don't really mean much, but the relative volumes might give you some idea of what you can get in them..

    cheers
