brake pipe bending tool

Hi,

I'm replacing all the brake pipes that run from the master cylinder on my mk2 golf but need a tool to produce the tight bends as the pipes enter the master cylinder, does anyone have any idea where I can get one to do the job. I got one form sealey tools but it won't produce a small enough radius.

Try carefukkly using your thumb and something round thats roughly the same diameter, thats what I do when I dont use the bender.

 

can you get a flexible mandrel (like a small, stiff spring) down the tube to support it when you bend it? if you don't then there's always the risk that a tight bend will put a kink/crease in the pipe.

 

You can put brake pipes into tight bends without needing an tools just use your fingers and do it by hand.

 

I've just replaced ALL the rigid lines on my MkII and bent them all by hand, no problems whatsoever

 

Well I'll give it a go by hand then, that should save some cash!
