Buying new car: Golf Vs Polo

Hi all,


My mum's after a new car, so it's either a Golf or Polo... both new.


Was wondering which she should go for, she'll probably go for the lowest trim.


The current Polo's been around for a while now.. is there a new one coming out soon?

The base model Passat is quite cheap now. IIRC about 13k.

 

The new polo face lift comes out later this year, the 9n (current model) is bigger than a MK1, the 1.4 16v is quite nippy, though ours is an auto boxer, dunno about MK5 Golf we were looking at Lupo vs Polo.

I saw some pics not long ago it looks like its a facelift of the 9N, aparently the price will stay the same but they will be better equipped.

Headlights are a bit "Porsche"

 

probably better off spending more on a better spec polo than getting a base model golf?

agreed, it should be a nicer car for your mum to live with & should hold it's value better.

 

Yeah, would be good having a high spec Polo than a low spec Golf..

New Polo, Porsche? Not anymore... I saw the new 911 on the road today, headlights have gone back to the classic style:

i saw a new 911 yesterday as well....million times better than last one.

 

Ended up buying a Golf 1.6SE(?) in metallic red. Thanks to those who replied
