My 16v transplat is almost complete now and am just awaiting my exhaust from Venom to get her on the road....

I need to know who you guys with the Mk1 16V are using to insure your car??? And how exspensive? Im 23 with five years no claims. Is it still possible to get classic car insurance???- its an 84 Mk1 cab

Any info would be much appreciated guys!

    Thanks

    James

Well I'm 20 with no no-claims, Mk1 2.0 16v for 1300 with HIC. That is 3rd party fire an theft, but I'm quite chuffed with the price actually.

Try a company called 'BELL DIRECT'. Its mentioned in some of the Golf mags. If you pay full amount on phone you get 10% discount plus you get discount if you got 5 or more years no claims. I paid 200 fully comp for my Mk3 16v. I am 28 with over 5 years no claims.

    im 20 with 2 yrs ncb and 1 sp30,
i pay about 900 on the golf with Liverpool V at the mo but i have just got a quote for about 1000 for the whole fleet with HIC (2000 miles on golf, 2000 miles on Mini and 20000 miles and business use on the polo)
but i think the golf on its own was about 500
i think this is pretty good!

Well times have changed, but that is the quote that I have got off HIC, I hav'nt yet had my policy altered as yet coz my car is with designa dubs. Currently it's about 900 on the standard 1.8 8v.

I think where I live is a big decider on my policy too, in Hayes = high crime rate.
