so that works the same then, do you have to get the car sat on flat ground on 4 axelstands to do it? because any slope in the ground will contribute to a **** up....

you need the car on flat ground whatever tool you use to check it

best way is to check the reading with the wheels on the ground , then say for example its 1 deg out...jack it up and put it on a stand and take another reading on the disc and then ajust it 1 deg from there

I'm curious about this too - having to pay every time I do anything affecting wheel alignment is bloody costly.

You might end up needing to change the bolts to the slimmer ones if it's that bad, 100mm is one hell of a drop.

i'm lucky that my garahge floor is flat....

    - i park car in square on, then mark round wheel position with duct tape on ground (will explain why in a sec)

    - i then use spirit level with a kinda prong tape to it that goes to lower part of wheel rim

    - i then measure to the top of the rim with a small ruler (i then work it out into degrees)

    - then jack up car, remove wheel and adjust

    - once putting car back on ground i take it for a short drive, then repark in duct tape squares and doubel check it as the tyre won't sit on ground right once its put back on ground (i also set tyre pressures first

you have to check the camber with the wheels on the ground to find out what settings you've got to start with. As soon as you jack the car up the wheels drop and completely change the camber.

so how do you test the camber with the wheels on the ground then?? put a steel wheel on so the magnetic bit sticks to it cuz it obviously wont stick to a ally

Not hi-jacking this thread. But as I need to get my camber done as the tyres are getting worn badly on the inside, I presume its best to get it done with brand new tyres as the worn tyres would already be worn to the 'in-correct' angle??
