    can u put a gti 16v cam inti a 1.6driver?? if so would it be quicker or would it f**k up all the timing??

    Which one? valvers are twin cam :)

    Best stick with an 8v cam to avoid confusion..

    try mixing sugar with your petrol as well...with the 16v cams it'l go lie f*ck ;)

    Oh dear [:s] You can fit an 8v gti cam in your driver but you need to find out if its hydraulic head or mechanical,sposed to be a good mod tho :p

    With it being a Driver i would have thought it would be hydraulic (ie later spec-if i have that the right way round) Heard that you could expect 5bhp. [Ahem]might have one kicking around off a digifant engine[/ahem]

    You will need a GTi exhaust manifold and exhaust though to make it breath.
    Might know where you could get one of those cheap ;)

    What about a corrado g60 cam? any ideas what effect that would have on the 1.6?

    G60 cam is milder than the 8v GTi one.

    LOL!! have you seen 16v cams. If you stuck one in an 8v (thats if it would even fit), then it would open the inlet and exhaust valves at the same time for each cylinder!!!

    Which would be interesting to say the least!!

    Ive got an 8 valve 85 gti and was thinking of buying a performance cam but when i went to halfords they wanted way over 200 but that was for the full cam kit. U learn something new every day lol.... [8D]

    Yes, like never buy from Halfords unles it's in a sale or buy one get one free on consumable bits!
