    Firstly welcome to CGTI!

It can be modified, dont expect to move mountains though, but im sure some fun can be had.
I only read about the common conversion of the mk3 1.9 td engine (AAZ) into mk1 caddys, but they can move alright.

Check out here for the tdi mods.

But hopefully folk off here can chip in also.

Have a good look around on here http://forums.tdiclub.com/ there is loads of stuff on tuning and improving the tdi engine. Look in the FAQ section.

Hi, in short answer yes! I remember an old article mentioning you can turn up the boost and fueling manually, but not sure what else was involved.

did this to a 306 I had, was very easy with a good guide off the internet. Im afraid i dont know how to do it to a golf but could be easy. I gained a fair bit of power at a guess 15-20bhp from what was said on the web page and how it felt, but also lots of smoke when you floor it due to the fuel being turned up lost about 5-10mpg aswell.

nozzles & increasing boost a practical / easy start

Not on a standard bottom end it wont:o 150 max, you can modify the PD130 bottom end to run VE pump setup then you should be good for 250bhp with the right mods;)
