ok i dont suppose i will get too many replies to this cause its so easy on a golf but i can unlock the boot on my jetta mk2 because the lock barrel has siezed (i think) ive tried squirting wd40 inside but that was no help and i fiddled the key in the lock for around 20 mins with no joy so i need to know is there anyway of opening the boot from the outside in another way? unfortunately i know how easy it is to get the boot open from the inside using the bar but in a jetta there is no way off getting into the boot from the main cockpit area (unless i employ a small child which i may have to do) please reply using PM's because obviously we cant have everyone knowing how to brakew into car boots cheers
Its a long shot but have you got a spare key? Try that first in case your other key is worn. Alternatively I always find an angle grinder opens boots quickly enough
incase anyone was wondering i managed to sort this out and ive now swapped the lockl from my other car, and ive fitted the solonoid and it all works.... schweeet!
