I want to get a good condition 3dr Mk2 Gti8v for under a grand, likely?

Also, Vix_dub is looking for a Mk4 Polo of Lupo for the same price?

    Are we both dreaming?[:s]

You can get a decent 8v for WAY less than 1k, despite what some people on here might say.

You would be very lucky to find a late MK2 Golf GTI 8V for under a grand, may have more luck fining a good condition earlier one for under 1k though

agree with den fraid, tis possible if ur patient and persistent.
Youve no preference for an early/late car, so a good condition car at that price is do able.

I'd prefer a later model, cos of the doors and isn't the wiring different too? [:s]

What about the other cars, dreaming i guess?

you could still pick up a non 1/4light model for under a grand!
Do some serious searching....online, autotrader,E&M, local papers ect. Something'll turn up. :)

    totally agree with mr den.

depends what your definition of decent is of course....i got a running, working, '86 8v for 90 with t and t.

on the mkIV polo/lupo front, not likely to get decent stuff for under a grand...lupos still cost lots more, you could find a ropey mkIV polo tho.

A decent 8v is easily posible at under a grand, perhaps not 50k FSH one owner absolute minters, but decent solid cars are available for less than 1k.

You'll want another 2K on top of your 1K to get a Lupo it would seem going on Autotrader prices. :)

Much more choice if you want a Polo though and cheaper prices, the Lupo is ridiculously expensive to start with... [:s]
