Guys. Been out in my mk3 today, and the cat is absolutly stinking of sulfer. So I have 3 questions: Does this mean the cat is dead??? Where can I get a de-cat pipe??? How do you spell catalytic???? Cheers!!!!!! Edited by: mk3anniversary
I know its not strictly legal, but was thinking about taking it off before it totally died and just swapping it back for MOT's. Will try changing my fuel, hadn't thought of that. There was a URL that was posted a long time ago for a place that did mk3 manifolds and de-cats. Anyone know what it was??????
IT has a Huge flat spot between gear changes, and something rattles....but I thought it was the heat shield.....it stops when its warmed up
I get the same on my mk3 GTi steve, strong sulpher smell, flat spot between 1st and 2nd (apparently remapping the chip sorts the flat spot out) and a rattle from the exhaust when cold not a 100% sure but i think my rattle is due to a loose baffle in the back box (stops when car has warmed up)
My rattle is deff coming from around the cat area, so i guess it could be the cat or the heat shield. The smell of sulfer is the thing that really concerns me.
