    Hi,
This may have been sort of answered in other posts, but I could do with a definitive answer if possible please. As I maybe buying the car in the next few days.
The car was a mk2 8v golf gti, which has now had a g60 engine put into it, with a merc supercharger on it.
It is not declared on the logbook at the moment, and the seller has no paperwork for the engine swap, it was done years ago by someone else, so not recent. Does it need changing on the logbook, as in theory they are both 8v engines? Would it just be a change of the engine number? Also would I need to somehow get some proof of where the engine was purchased etc?
If what tony@greenlight says in the thread before this, as long as I inform insurance of all the mods, I should be covered correctly insurance wise.
Thanks in advance for any answers.
