Hi just picked up a mk2 16v, when driving it back I noticed it has an intermittent chattering noise when the clutch is pressed, I think it could be the clutch thrust bearing, its most noticeable when up shifting, not so much when dropping down the box but only happens when clutch is pressed in, even if the car is out of gear. If it is the bearing is it acceded by removing the cap on the end of the box or do you have get at it in the bell housing by removing the gearbox thanks for any advice.
