Has anyone out there fitted one of these chips that are advertised on Ebay to an 8V digifant, on reading the sellers feedback most of the buyers seem pleased. I know they are some kind of transistor thats fits in the airflow meter. I have an almost uncontrolable urge to buy one of these things as they are only 4.99.

    Any advise is appreciated:)

i reckon they'll end up a bit more than 4.99, and i also reckon they'll be no good.

best bet is go to somewhere like stealth or amd and get re-map, but i'm guessing you can't afford the few hundred notes required.

I was just looking at these the other day. Aparrently they are not a chip but only a resistor which is connected somewhere. This makes your injectors feed more fuel hence the extra performance.

I'm tempted to try one since they are so cheap but I'm sure you can find a diy guide of how to do this for free on the web.

However way you do it I doubt you'll get more than 3-4bhp increase.

All it is, is a resistor to make the ECU 'think' that the intake temp is lower than it really is. You could buy a pack of 5 resistors for about 50 pence.
BHP increase, well you might get about 3 or so, but you will never fell that. Will also make car heavier on fuel.

Whats the point of overfuelling really? Yes you may get a little more bang, but a big hole in your wallet and a f**ked up engine as the ECU wont know whether its coming or going.

It is just a resistor that will cost you 5p.
A mate of mine bought one for a laugh :p
Its cr@p made the car slower and use more fuel.
Just as affective as disconnecting the lamda sensor to get over fuelling.

i belive they alter the temperature reading which has the effect of advancing the ignition timing to get more power, very risky if your ignition timing is currently borderline (high compression head) any more advance could cause severe detonation.
    Buyer beware!!!
