Hmmm..... I'm guessing this is going to be worht me trying out, and seeing if it cures my 'crunching 2nd gear' ?!?

Have got a replacment 'box, (thanks to raddogolfman!) but if using Redline MTL sorts the problem, it'll save me getting the 'boxes swapped over @ a cost of 120..... ;)

yeap and then you can sell your box to someone who wants a 20vt conversion in a mk2 maybe
try adjusting your cables a little too, also worn engine mounts will give a dodgy gearchange

tried using a locking wheel nut key, but couldn't find anything to grip it with properly!!

Going to pop into Halfrauds/GSF on Saturday and pick up a 1/2" drive one !!!! [:D] Stick the extendable wheel wrench on it and that should do the job !!!!

MTL is best for the 020 boxes, and MT90 apparently is best for 02a boxes :)

Aye the hydro gearbox mount in my Driver had gone which made it impossible to select second when turning right whilst travelling uphill. Handy that there is a busy junction on a hill that I have to turn right out of every day... Though it still took 6 months for me to get around to fixing it

Rember if you are using a LSD even a gear type like a Quaife you will need a GL5 or greater shockproof oil.

Found this out after my first outing with the quaife at the RSOC day at combe, When u get the diff working hard it will foam the oil and the box goes realy sticky and horrible.

They do, or they have a list of distributors which includes a lot of local motor factors - they won't have it in stock, but can order it in for you......
