im picking my new mk6 up shortly I've gone for the 18" monza shadows I'm pretty worried keeping them shiny so wondered what people recommend to clean them? i don't want to damage them using the wrong stuff i never use wonder wheels or the like but maybe something was suitable for the polished finish? cheers
Use a non acidic wheel cleaner. Bilberry is good. You can dilute it to 1:10: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheel...bilberry-wheel-cleaner-1-litre-/prod_499.html As for protection afterwards, you want to use something like: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/poorboys-wheel-sealant/prod_9.html
I bought he poorboys wheel sealant the other day. I'm going to apply a couple of coats as soon as I get the car home.
Good choice. You want something nice and safe to clean them with as well, that wont strip the poorboys. I personally try and apply a thin coat every time i clean the wheels. I also use some brushes on the insides of the wheels to make sure there are no corrosive materials on the inner rims. Optimum Optiseal gel is good for the tyres.
Ok thanks On my 197 the speedlines were a nightmare to clean so i used brushes to get into the inside rim of the wheel. The shadows look alot easier to clean inside the wheel. I have just been using cheap tyre dressing/black restorer which is has been ok when first applied but only lasts a few days Before looking dry again
Yes, there is a lot more space in between the 5 large spokes. I had a 200 last July until May this year.
